Before joining Lloyds and Barclay Lawyers as a partner, Dmitry had been involved in the management consulting practices with multinational consulting houses to bring about the successful performance of large corporate organisations. His responsibilities as senior management consultant and commercial director have required the use of strategic and tactical elements including project management of large and complex engagements, improvement in corporate performance, policy development and deployment of effective measures for the protection of corporate assets, outsourcing and restructuring large corporate accounts, contractual protection and legal advice to achieve operational excellence.

Results oriented professional with innovative management style, Dmitry is a effective thinker and excellent strategist. Strengths include the ability to leverage strategic thinking and creativity to achieve customer satisfaction, whether by providing a legal advice or representing the clients through the web of litigation; a clear ability to handle complex and diverse legal matters; the capacity to develop innovative legal solutions through focused problem solving, and the thoughtful application of progressive legal practices.

Walter Edwards

Lawyer and Consultant

Educated in private schools in NSW and Victoria and excelling in athletics and Rugby Union, was a member of the Victorian Junior Rugby Union Team from 1960 to 1965 and played 1st Grade Rugby in 1964 and 1965 before undertaking a Law Degree at Monash University. After putting myself through university, entered private practice before becoming a Mentor at Leo Cussen Institute in 1978 responsible for Civil Litigation and Family Law Courses at the Institute. After completing term appointment as Mentor worked in the private and public sector as a solicitor when appointed to the Ministry of Transport to draft the Road Safety Act with a small team of lawyers and liaised with the Vehicle Engineers at the Road Transport Authority. Represented Victoria in Tenpin Bowling and was Masters Champion in 1979 as well as becoming President of the Melbourne Tenpin Bowling Association.

Walter appointed to the position of Institute Solicitor with Chisholm in 1987 before becoming Senior Assistant University Solicitor at Monash University in 1990. Between 1988 and 1994 was a member of the Committee of Management of the Royal Dental Hospital (affiliated with Melbourne University) and Legal Counsel to two Statutory Boards. For personal reasons left Monash University and returned to private practice specialising in commercial law. Career highlights include being invited as an undergraduate to give a lecture in Trusts. Appearing as Counsel at first instance in County Court when matter appealled and now reported as a precedent case.

Walter had recently joined our team as lawyer and consultant in the range of criminal and business matters. Together with Dmitry Shtifelman, Walter affords his expertise to specifically complex matters, providing his wealth of experience to our clients who require specialist knowledge and unorthodox approach.

Sofia Lozanova

Sofia has been with our firm for over two years, commencing her legal experience at Lloyds & Barclay Lawyers whilst attending University full time where she completed her double degree in Law/Arts. From her mere beginnings as a volunteer, she has proven that tenacity and hard work are the driving forces in establishing one-self as a competent and successful individual. Ms. Lozanova's professionalism and dedication has ensured her success in our firm as she is now employed as a fully qualified solicitor Sofia now taking instructions on the range of matters. Gaining considerable experience in a diverse range of practice areas and having an exceptional eye for detail, she is truly capable of attending to every aspect of your matter, ultimately providing clients with a holistic approach to their legal needs. Ravi Siva

Criminal Lawyer, Consultant

Mr. Siva's area of practice here in Victoria is in Criminal Law, Intervention orders, Interim Child protection orders, as well as commercial matters.

• Mr. Siva graduated in Law with Honours from The University of Buckingham, England in 1986. In 1987 he was admitted to The Bar of England and Wales as a Barrister.
• In 1988 he was admitted to The High Court of Malaya (Malaysia) as an Advocate and Solicitor.
• His area of practice was Criminal Law, Family Law, Property Law, Law of Negligence, Corporate Law.
• He also lectured the University of London's external Law Degree programme in the subjects of Constitutional and Administrative Law, Criminal Law, The Law of Contract, The Law of Tort and English Legal System at various institutions of higher learning.
• In 2004, Mr. Siva was admitted as a Legal Practitioner of The Supreme Court of New South Wales.
• In 2005, he was admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor of The Supreme Court of Victoria.
